Grow Guide

Seed Growing Starter Kit:
From germination to harvest

Successful plant cultivation begins with proper storage, germination, and care of seeds, as well as optimal execution of the various growth stages. Below, you'll find a guide that will show you the way to a healthy plant and a successful harvest.

Seed storage and preparation

To keep the seeds fresh and viable, store them in a sealed plastic bag in the refrigerator. This cool, dark environment protects the seeds from moisture loss and premature germination. When you're ready to sow the seeds, remove them from the refrigerator and prepare them for germination.

Germination steps

1. Soak
Place the seeds in a clean glass jar of water at room temperature (20-25°C) and let them soak for 12 hours. After this time, the seeds should have sunk to the bottom or sink to the touch. If they remain suspended, germination is questionable, and it is advisable to use other seeds. It is important not to soak for too long, as prolonged soaking deprives the seeds of oxygen and can cause the seeds to die.

2. Germination on paper towel
After soaking, you can place the seeds on a damp paper towel. This should be placed in a dark, warm, and moist container (e.g., a plastic container). The container should always remain dark, warm (20-25°C), and moist. It's important to open the container every few hours and spray the seeds to prevent them from drying out. The paper towel should never dry out completely, or the seeds won't germinate.

3. Radicle
After a few days (usually 1-5 days), the taproot (radicle) will appear. Once it's about 1-2 cm long, you can plant the seeds in the propagation hole.

Planting the seeds

Fill a small container or pot with the soil. Make a small depression (approximately 1-2 cm deep) in the soil. Carefully place the seed inside and lightly cover it with soil. Water the soil gently so it's moist but not wet. Use a spray bottle or small watering can for best results. Place the pot in a warm, bright location, but not in direct sunlight. Ideal temperatures are around 22-26°C.

Seedling stage (approx. 2-3 weeks)

As soon as the first leaves appear, the plant is in the seedling stage. The following conditions are important for healthy growth:

- Temperature: 22-26°C
- Humidity: 65-80%
- Light: Low light intensity, preferably cool/blue spectrum, 18 hours light/6 hours
Darkness per day. Window light is sufficient, but a grow light is ideal.

The seedling stage begins when the seed opens and the first cotyledons appear. The plant then produces serrated leaves that later become the familiar cannabis fan leaves. This can take up to three weeks. Water the tray sparingly and leave the plant in small pots for a few days to allow the roots to develop properly. Make sure your seedlings get enough light to ensure strong, healthy growth.

Vegetative stage (about 3 to 16 weeks)

Now you can transplant your plant into the PotKing 16-liter pot.
Pay attention to the following conditions:

- Temperature around 22-26°C
- Humidity approx. 40-60%
- More light with cool blue spectrum
- Good air circulation
- 18 hours of light/6 hours of darkness per day.
- Water regularly, preferably from the bottom of the saucer, and ensure good drainage.
- Follow the nutrient plan below for VitaLink Earth Grow

Most growers let the plants vegetate for 3-8 weeks, depending on the desired size. More time means larger plants and likely higher yields. To induce flowering, set the light to 12/12 hours starting 6 weeks after germination.

Start with VitaLink Turbo+ (1-2 ml per liter of water) two weeks before flowering and during
the flowering period.

The flowering phase (about 8 to 11 weeks)

To ensure your plant blooms large and healthy, pay attention to the following conditions:

- Temperature around 18-26°C
- Humidity approx. 40-50%
- More red light, appropriate distance, 12 hours light/12 hours dark.
- Water as needed and apply higher amounts of fertilizer for flowering, according to the nutrient schedule.

When growing indoors, set the light to 12/12 hours. Important: The dark phase must never be interrupted, otherwise flowering will be delayed, the plant may regress, or the flowers may become hermaphroditic.

Ready for harvest

To determine the right time to harvest, look at the pistils. If they're still white, the plant is too young—don't harvest! When they turn orange, brown, or pink and remain upright, harvest is approaching. Shortly before harvest, the pistils are usually orange or brown and have curled into the buds. This is a good sign to check the trichomes.

The best clues come from the trichomes, the small resin galls that look like lollipops. They start out clear, then turn milky white. When most are milky and some are amber, it's the perfect time to harvest. It's all easy to observe with the naked eye!

Earth MAX Grow / Bloom
VitaLink Earth MAX Grow and Bloom are single-component nutrients that work well for many plants in a variety of soils. They improve the soil, maintain the balance between nutrients and biological life, and contain fulvic acid and chelated micronutrients. This ensures better nutrient uptake, increased photosynthesis, vigorous growth, and beautiful blooms.

Turbo+
VitaLink Turbo promotes vigorous growth and energizes your plants. It increases flower size and fruit weight. It contains natural cytokinins, lignin salts, and glucosides, as well as balanced chelated trace elements that stimulate your plants to achieve optimal growth and yield.

Fabric pot, 16 L
PotKing's round fabric pots are perfect for keeping your plants healthy. They're made from recycled PET fabric, provide good ventilation and drainage, and are resistant to overwatering. When the roots reach the rim, they are "air-trimmed," preventing root circling. The pots are sturdy, easy to fill, reusable, and can be recycled at the end of their life.
