Science behind the product
Using a reflector is the best way to maximize the use of light sources. Without a reflector, a lamp would only shine into the open area. This would be an inefficient use of the light source, as the light energy would not be directed toward the plants. While the plants would still receive some light, without a reflector, the light intensity would not be high enough to ensure optimal growth.

An air-cooled reflector also helps reduce the problem of heat buildup from grow lights. HPS and MH lamps generate heat and contribute to high ambient temperatures that can cause plant stress. Air-cooled reflectors give growers more control over the temperature of their grow environment.
